recent projects
include learning how to conduct and direct a choir – we just finished our 3rd season of pipechoir (email me for details if you would like to join for our spring semester!) and I’m feeling so excited and proud of the community that is growing up around the pipe. In March, Jyl Mars scored and accompanied Heather Dutton’s original dance piece, Closet; My Sanctuary. I’ve also been playing my own music with a band this year, and am learning how to be a good leader in that space. I bought a new big harp (it’s a troubadour! it’s as big as I am! yippee!!) and am teaching myself how to play it by writing little arrangements of folk songs and lullabies I grew up with.
I released my first EP this summer. I recorded it with Robin in the chambers at the top of the walnut st. bridge, and I am proud of it. It’s a lesson in letting go!
I’m planning to record my first full length album this winter. Planning to continue learning to listen well. Planning to go on some good long walks.
